Almost every hair transplant clinic in Istanbul sells its procedure as an “all-inclusive package”. That is convenient: you book one price and the clinic organises the hotel, the airport pick-up and the medication. But packages differ more than their headlines suggest. This guide breaks down what a package usually contains, what is often extra and how to compare offers fairly.
The typical package
| Item | Usually included? | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Procedure (FUE/DHI) | Yes | Planned graft number in writing; who performs which step |
| Blood tests on the day | Yes | Which tests (e.g. HIV, hepatitis, blood count, clotting) |
| Local anaesthesia | Yes | Needle-free or sedation options may cost extra |
| Medication | Yes | Painkillers, antibiotics, anti-swelling medication |
| First wash | Yes | Usually the day after surgery at the clinic |
| Aftercare kit | Usually | Lotion, shampoo, neck pillow, hat |
| Hotel | Usually 2–3 nights | Hotel name, distance to clinic, breakfast, single vs double |
| Transfers | Usually | Airport–hotel–clinic, both airports? |
| Interpreter | Usually | Present during consultation and surgery? |
| PRP | Sometimes one session | Additional sessions often extra |
| Follow-up | Varies | Online check-ins at 3, 6, 12 months? |
Common extras
- Additional hotel nights or a companion’s room
- More grafts than quoted, decided on the day
- Additional PRP or mesotherapy sessions
- Upgrades such as sedation or “VIP” options
- Prescription medication for long-term hair loss
- Flights (rarely included)
How to compare packages fairly
- Compare price per graft. Divide the price by the planned number of grafts, and check whether “unlimited grafts” really means anything for your donor area.
- Compare doctor involvement. A cheaper package where technicians do most of the work is not the same product as one where the doctor makes the incisions.
- Compare the hotel and location. A four-star hotel next to the clinic can be better than a five-star hotel an hour away in traffic.
- Compare aftercare. Who answers your questions in month two?

Bringing a companion
Many packages accept a companion in the same hotel room for little or no extra charge. Having someone with you helps on the first night and on the trip home.
Payment and deposits
Clinics typically ask for a small deposit to secure your date and the balance on the day, in cash or by card. Get the cancellation and rescheduling terms in writing, and pay deposits by a traceable method.
Frequently asked questions
Can I stay longer than the package?
Yes; most clinics can book extra nights at their partner hotel or you can arrange your own.
Are flights included?
Rarely. Book flights only after the date is confirmed in writing.
What if I need a second session?
Ask about the clinic’s policy for top-up sessions and any discounts before you book.
