Dental Implants in Turkey: Cost, Brands, Timeline and What to Check

A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth with a titanium (or sometimes zirconia) screw placed in the jawbone. Once it has fused with the bone, a crown is attached on top. Implants are one of the most common reasons people travel to Turkey for dental treatment, because the savings on multiple implants can be considerable. Here is what the process involves and what affects the price.

The three parts of an implant

  • Implant (fixture): the screw placed in the bone.
  • Abutment: the connector between the implant and the crown.
  • Crown: the visible tooth, usually zirconia or porcelain.

Check whether a quoted price covers all three; some low headline prices are for the implant screw only.

Brands

Well-known implant brands include Straumann, Nobel Biocare, and Osstem, Megagen and Hiossen among Korean manufacturers, with several reputable Turkish and European brands too. Premium brands have long research histories and wide availability of compatible parts worldwide, which matters if you need repairs at home. Ask for the brand and record the implant details.

Timeline

  1. First trip (3–5 days): examination, CT scan, extractions if needed, implant placement, temporary teeth if appropriate.
  2. Healing (about 3–6 months): the implant integrates with the bone.
  3. Second trip (4–7 days): impressions or scans and fitting of final crowns.

Immediate loading (fixing teeth on the same day) is possible in selected cases, especially All-on-4, but not suitable for everyone. See All-on-4 in Istanbul.

Who is suitable?

You need enough healthy bone, healthy gums and good general health. Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes and some medications (for example certain osteoporosis drugs) increase risks. Be honest with the clinic about your medical history.
