All-on-4 Dental Implants in Istanbul: How It Works, Cost and Who It Suits

All-on-4 is a way to replace a full arch of teeth (upper or lower) with a fixed bridge supported by four implants, often with temporary teeth attached on the day of surgery. All-on-6 uses six implants for additional support. For people who have lost most of their teeth or wear uncomfortable dentures, it can be life-changing. It is also a major surgical treatment, so careful planning matters.

How it works

  1. Planning: a 3D CT scan assesses bone volume and nerve and sinus positions.
  2. Surgery: remaining failing teeth are removed and four (or six) implants are placed. The back implants are often angled to use available bone and avoid the sinuses or nerves, which can reduce the need for bone grafts.
  3. Temporary bridge: where the implants are stable enough, a fixed acrylic temporary bridge is attached within about 24–72 hours.
  4. Healing (about 3–6 months): implants integrate with the bone; a soft diet is needed at first.
  5. Final bridge: on a second trip, a permanent bridge is made, often zirconia or acrylic on a metal framework.

Things to know

  • It is surgery: expect swelling and discomfort for several days.
  • Same-day teeth depend on implant stability; not every case qualifies.
  • A fixed bridge needs careful cleaning (water flosser, special brushes) and regular check-ups.
  • Repairs need compatible parts; ask for the implant brand and documentation.
