Hair Transplant Cost in Turkey (2026): Prices, Packages and What Drives the Difference

Ask five Istanbul clinics for a hair transplant quote and you may get five prices between roughly €1,500 and €6,000 or more, all for “the same” procedure. The gap is not random. It mostly reflects who does the surgery, how many patients the clinic treats per day and what is bundled into the package. This guide explains the typical price bands, what you are paying for in each, and the questions that reveal what a quote really covers.

Typical price bands in 2026

The ranges below are what clinics in Istanbul commonly quote to international patients for a full-day procedure. They are indicative only; exchange rates and clinic policies change, and your own quote will depend on your hair loss and donor area.

Type of clinicTypical package priceWhat usually explains the price
High-volume package clinicsabout €1,500–€2,500Several patients a day, technicians do much of the extraction and implantation, hotel and transfers bundled
Mid-range clinics with doctor involvementabout €2,500–€4,000Fewer patients a day, doctor designs the hairline and opens channels or supervises closely
Surgeon-led boutique practicesabout €4,000–€8,000+One patient per day per surgeon, surgeon performs key steps personally, often priced per graft

For comparison, the same procedure in the UK, Western Europe or the US is commonly priced in the range of several thousand to well over ten thousand pounds, euros or dollars, often charged per graft. Lower staff and operating costs, strong competition and the exchange rate are the main reasons Turkey is cheaper.

Per-graft or flat price?

Many Turkish clinics advertise “unlimited grafts” or a flat price. That sounds generous, but the number of grafts you can safely receive is limited by your donor area, not by the package. A flat price can also hide a lower graft count than you expect. Surgeon-led clinics more often charge per graft, which makes it easier to compare like for like. Whichever model you are offered, ask for the planned graft number in writing and how it was estimated. Our graft estimate guide explains the usual ranges for each stage of hair loss.

FUE, Sapphire FUE and DHI pricing

Classic FUE is usually the lowest-priced option. Sapphire FUE adds a small premium for the sapphire blades used to open channels. DHI is often a few hundred euros more again because the Choi pens are consumables and the procedure takes longer. The technique matters less to the final result than the team’s skill, so do not pay extra for a label without knowing who will perform each step. See FUE vs DHI for how the methods differ.

What packages usually include

  • Pre-operative blood tests and consultation on the day
  • The procedure under local anaesthesia
  • Medication for the first days (painkillers, antibiotics as prescribed) and a wash kit
  • The first professional hair wash, usually the day after surgery
  • 2–3 nights in a partner hotel and airport/hotel/clinic transfers
  • An interpreter or patient coordinator

Often not included, or charged extra: flights, extra hotel nights, a companion’s room, PRP sessions after the first one, prescription medication for long-term hair loss (such as finasteride or minoxidil), and follow-up visits if you need to return.

How long you need to stay

Most packages assume three nights: arrival and consultation, surgery day, and the first wash before you fly. Flying is generally fine from the day after the wash, but check with your clinic, especially for long-haul flights. More on the first days in our recovery timeline.

When a low price is a warning sign

Very cheap offers, especially those well under €1,500, frequently come from clinics running many operations a day with little doctor involvement. Problems linked to this include over-harvested donor areas, unnatural hairlines and poor graft survival. Repairs later cost more than doing it carefully the first time; see our guide on failed hair transplant repair.

Questions to ask before you pay a deposit

  1. Exactly how many grafts are planned, and will I receive a graft count after surgery?
  2. Who designs the hairline, who extracts, who opens channels or implants?
  3. How many patients does the team operate on that day?
  4. What is included in the price, and what costs extra?
  5. What is the deposit and refund policy if I need to change dates?
  6. How will follow-up work after I go home?

Frequently asked questions

Are there hidden fees?

Reputable clinics put everything in writing. The most common surprises are extra charges for a higher graft count decided on the day, additional PRP, or hotel upgrades. Ask for a final written quote before travelling.

Can I pay in pounds, euros or dollars?

Most clinics serving international patients quote in euros and accept cash or card. Clarify whether card payments carry a surcharge.

Is a more expensive clinic always better?

No, but price does often reflect how much time a doctor spends on your case. Compare what you get for the money, not only the total.
